surgery wk 3, day 17 (yesterday)

surgery clinic. it should've been called anus clinic, because that was what i was looking at all day long, anuses. more specifically, patient's with hemorrhoids. with an ANOSCOPE. hahaha.

i never thought i would learn so much about hemorrhoids, but you know what, i'm glad that i did. cause it's such a common problem. now i feel like an authority. and no one can say that i received poor training in rectal exams, no siree.

the power of the finger.

it did bother me that ppl cried out in pain when my finger went in. i can't help it that my knuckles are big and knobby...

so the attending for the clinic took us out for lunch. mmmmmm.... we ate and ate heartily, never mind that we all had our fingers in ppl's anuses minutes before. good thing we had chinese and not indian or ethiopian food, eh? we even took a brief stroll after lunch. i don't think i've ever enjoyed a walk before, but i did then. though it was short, it felt like such a LUXURY.

surgery wk 3, day 18

no cases for me. played hooky and slept two hrs, then spent time before lectures reading atlas shrugged (bought this and fountainhead with gift card from STROM. thanks, guys!!!!). i love this book...

in summary, the two most relaxed days in recent memory...
