    medicine: wk1,day6 (sat)

    sign that i'm going crazy:

when i went to go see one of my patients in the morning, i couldn't help but notice the smell of food. i looked at his tray, which had some eggs, porridge, and toast. did they put cheese in those eggs? i wondered...

then i lifted his sheet, and saw a pool of diarrhea under his bottom. it was very smooth, like it had been through a food processor or something. funny, it didn't really smell that bad. but i got naseous anyway, thinking of how i thought that smell was the smell of FOOD.

it was a long day. that it was saturday made it worse. that my friends were out to celebrate denise's birthday while i was cooped in here made it torture.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DENISE!!!

the thought of going in early sunday morning to check on my patients...someone save me.

i finished a prayer for owen meany, finally. i like to read books at one or two sittings, but i couldn't for this book. much, much thanks to SH for this book. how many books can make you laugh out loud, and cry as you read? not many. thank you!
