another wild weekend after i get back from home, ...
saw minority report. good movie. very intense. not exactly a movie to take a date to, but very few people that i know will have that problem.
after watching the movie, i had to applaud tom cruise. the dude is an excellent actor. the way he chooses roles is amazing. while contemplating his movies, however, i have to say, the guy is rather one-dimentional. tom cruise only knows intensity. has he every been funny? his weird, uneasy smile... that i'm-smiling-because-i-know-you-did-it-but-i'm-going-to-get-you,-you-*@$%$^!! doesn't count. he's never, ever been funny. neither has he ever really been romantic. top gun, jerry mcguire, he puts on the moves, but it is a very scary, out of control. if i was a girl, i'd be very frightened of him.
when i think of tom cruise, i think of him with a red face, glaring at you, clenching his jaw, with a vein in his forehead about to pop. this type of career can't be good for him.
i want to see him in a silly movie. i'd pay good money for that. c'mon, just for some variety. he's got to be sick of playing high adrenaline intense roles all the time.
vanilla sky is the best example. that scene where he is in front of a panel of judges. . . i'll never forget that.
"oh, that's funny... for a second there, i thought it was a MASK!!" (suddenly screams, jumps in the air and bicycles his legs furiously in the air.) i still have daytime nightmares about this.
