the united states was at war, and on her own soil. japan had rapidly, surprisingly, become a world military power.

news spread quickly that manhattan was going to be attacked, resulting in widespread chaos in the city.

the streets were filled with people leaving the city. traffic was held to a complete standstill, gridlocked. people trampled over cars and other people, trying to leave as fast as they could. screams, car honking, and sirens, and from somewhere, a dull roar...

i was stuck underground, on a subway platform. there was a train there, fully capable of leaving the city, but the operator refused to run it. the crowd gathered there was incensed. several people rushed the train, and crumpled. seconds later, the delayed cracks of gunshots echoed.

i was standing in newport, nj. watching the city, along with thousands of other people who had the same idea. we could see attack jets dropping bombs over the entire city. the proud skyline was disappearing, building by building. smoke filled the sky, occasionally cleared when swept by winds.

i was inside a japanese fighter jet, behind the pilot. he didn't realize i was there. i stood up and screamed at him. he turned, took a look at me, and reacted. the jet began to spin, and i was thrown all over the plane.
