stories from the wards (or streets, in this case)
as per jimmy: the bus drivers for our medical school are notorious for being rude and inconsiderate. one day, i was riding the school bus with other medical students and residents, when right before our eyes, we saw a hit-and-run. about three cars ahead, the car hit a pedestrian, and the lady went flying. the car hardly paused and flew away. the next two cars didn't pause at all, and went right by the lady on the ground. the bus driver slowed the bus as they approached the woman. medical students and residents went to the front of the bus, ready to get off and come to the aid of the woman. the bus paused next to the woman, and the bus driver stuck his head the window and yelled, "hey, lady! what are you doing? get off the street!!" and then stepped on the gas. all the students and residents looked incredulously at the driver, still expecting the door to open, unable to believe that the bus was pulling away. one student: "dude, are you for REAL?" yakob at 7:31 PM |
