i called a dry cleaners i've never tried to send in my clothes. the young woman who took the call told me i would need to rush if i wanted it done by today. i rushed over, but i was 25 minutes late.

i stepped into the store. there was a young lady and young guy behind the counter. when i introduced myself as the guy that had called, the girl exclaimed with a big smile, "so, YOU'RE the guy. do you know how long i've been waiting?"

"i'm sorry." i said. what i really wanted to say was, now that i've seen the person behind the voice, i'm REALLY sorry. i usually think of things like that to say way after the opportunity, but this was the one chance where i thought of this on the spot. however, i wasn't sure if the guy next to her was just a co-worker, her brother, or her husband, so i said nothing. actually, that's not the real reason. the real reason is that i'm chicken, but you already knew that.

it is so rare for a person match up to a nice voice on a phone. this was one of those rare times. remember the mediterranean dry cleaners girl in chicago, jc? she was something. one of the very rare instances when the person live fit the gentle sweet voice on the phone perfectly. i will never forget her.

nor mary, our most excellent waitress from the chili's in baltimore. she was an amazing lady...

i went to macy's today to buy a pair of jeans. while in the levi's section, i stood there watching a commercial for low rise jeans. looks good, i thought. i grabbed a pair and went into the dressing room. WHOA!

dude, those bad boys were leaving no room for me up front and were climbing up my crack in the back. i know they're supposed to be tight, but jeez! these were trying to wedge in where there was no room. how do ppl wear these things?!

i settled on a pair of normal DKNYs. thank goodness for normal jeans.
