i really need to have a guitar during the week. my preparation for praise is really suffering b/c of this. rush, rush, rush. that was this morning.
pastor U gave a sermon from
1 Peter 1
1) Elect- each one of us were chosen. you are not some random product of someone's outreach effort. you are not merely someone born to your parents. you are one whom God has been pursuing in love.
2) Strangers- we are aliens in this world. although we live in this world, we are not of this world. as rafikki (sp?) from THE LION KING says, "SIMBA! Remember who you are! you are the son of a KING!"
-even knowing what our purpose is, we can be so caught up with small things in life, and they can become so important to us, that we forget our original purpose, and to whom we belong to.
3) Scattered- christians were commanded by Jesus to be salt and light to the world. thus, we are not meant to just have a grand ol' time with other christians all the time. we must be scattered, in uncomfortable and even hostile areas, to be FLAVOR of something that is above and beyond this earth. and if we do not bring flavor, if we are not being salt, we must wonder, are we really living this life for God?
during bible study afterwards, went over the sermon's points to review, and discussed questions. i was excited when the guys in my group came up with some great questions. they were really thinking and digesting material, and even challenging with what they had seen in life. it was GREAT! granted, i didn't have all the answers. everyone voiced his opinion or what he knew on these questions. and as best as i could, i answered what i could, and told them to keep searching for the answers. if they weren't satisfied with what i told them, to ask other teachers, pastor U, do some research in the bible, do whatever it takes, but to keep searching.
after bible study, i felt so drained.
had talk with pastor U about praise/prayer/etc.
exhausted during our teachers mtg and prayer mtg. i don't know why. i had nothing in me. i had to pinch and punch myself to try to keep awake.
5:00 service
intern pastor C gave sermon on devotion. he was clearly a shy, gentle, nice guy. great english, too! :)
i was somewhat distracted because, objectively, he is one of the prettiest men i've ever seen. not attracted, just that it was unusual to see that in a man.
did the foosball thing. lost once, but regained it. HAHAHA.
jeehye's going away party afterwards at moonstruck.
man. i wrote some stuff in the memory book or whatever, but...
i'm going to miss her. jeehye has this down-to-earth open quality about her. it's very easy to be relaxed around her. she's incredibly humble, which is amazing in light of her talents. and what talent. i used to ask her to sing her original songs for me whenever we were in a car trip (actually, i guess this was only two times...haha) but i kept buggin her, and each time, i'm be blown away.
beside her musical talent, she's got this raw emotion that rips through stuff. it gets your attention, for sure.
but mostly, jeehye, i'm gonna miss some of our late night chats. well, actually, you should still be online in KC, right? so, no prob. :)

we were late, but we balled for some games. lost a couple of times because i made the mistake of passing. poop. i'm never going to do that again. HAHAHA. i'm only a quarter joking.
