    i might've shared this b4, i don't remember, but there was a very pretty patient today, and i was reminded of advice regarding girls my grandmother gave the summer after hs (the last time i saw her b4 she passed away):

    One day, my grandmother broke the monotony of our usual ritual. She became very serious, and asked me if I had a girlfriend, if I was going to marry soon. Marry? I was 18, for goodness sake! In a VERY serious voice, she said, “Marry a girl with a broad nose.”

    ???!!!!!! WHAT?! A broad nose?! What the?!! My face must have shown my incredulity and revulsion, because my grandmother smacked my shoulder and sat more upright, as if punishing/lecturing me.

    “Girls with sharp noses are crafty, tricky. Girls with broad noses might not be pretty, but they will love you and serve you.” I understood her general point, but I was in no mind to really entertain her idea, because I was still recovering from her random command to marry a broad-nosed girl. Of all the characteristics to look for in a girl…
