saw lilo and stitch.
surprisingly good movie. very undisney-like. stitch appeals to a certain part of me...i liked him more at the beginning, when he was all crazy. heehee. he was really cute. the only thing that disturbed me about the movie. the hawaiian characters were soo ugly! i mean, on one hand, you have characters from disney like ariel and belle, then on the other hand you have asian characters like mulan, nana and lilo (from lilo and stitch). there IS a way to retain asian features without making them hideous. i'm not asking disney to make nana and lilo breathtaking. we're not supposed to fall in love with these characters the way we are supposed to with ariel and belle. but please! what's with the huge square noses and eyes that are nearly vertical? if non-asian cartoonists and artists don't know how to capture the asian look without completely distorting faces, can't we get some asian artists in there? i now understand why my hawaiian friend refuses to watch this movie. aside from this point, lilo and stitch was hilarious. good entertainment. yakob at 10:45 PM |
