  • Evan Almighty - an incredible story of faith
    Tuesday, December 11

I was expecting a funny movie, and I got it. I know it got mixed reviews, and I don't think it was a big money makers for the studio. But despite it being a comedy, it incredibly retains many of the themes that are actually present in the biblical story.

    1) Evan is ridiculed by all his neighbors
    2) Evan is abandoned by his family, including his WIFE, his children. (they go back to him later)
    3) Evan is pulled from normal life and work to do something that seems absurd to everyone else in the world.
    4) Not one person understands him
    5) When the wife returns, she says something like, "I don't understand this, but i will follow you anyway because I love you." That line was better than every wedding vow I have ever heard.

This is a great movie. Better than most sermons I've heard lately.
