    Monday, June 13

I never thought that I would spend Sunday afternoons playing softball. Especially if I don't have a sprained ankle or broken wrist that would prevent me from playing basketball. But somehow, I found myself playing softball on a Sunday afternoon with TRPC against RWC.

Confession: I don't know how to play softball. I have a vague idea of how the game is played, having seen parts of baseball games here and there, and assuming softball is much like baseball. Of course, I had forgotten that I sucked in baseball, too.

My memories of baseball in elementary, junior high, and high school PE consists of:

    1) me being picked last all the time.
    2) captains generously offering me to the other team for free.
    3) always being placed in the outfield, where apparently there is less danger of me screwing up. 4) me watching the ball being popped up, thinking i could catch it in the outfield, then watching it sail 20 ft behind me.

I had ONE moment of glory in my baseball career.

When I was in elementary school (i think in 6th grade), i hit the ball, and goodness, for the first time, i knew what it felt like to hit the ball properly. because, unlike every other time when the bat jarred and hurt my hands like a ...., THIS time, it didn't hurt at all. in fact, it was such a smooth and sweet feeling.

too bad it was a foul ball. but HECK, i didn't care. that made my entire week.

fast forward to today. i found myself playing my childhood mocker, the game with a simple ball and bat, and where kids are allowed to be cruel. thankfully, i was playing with young adults, and they were christians to boot. heck, they even let me pitch!

I popped up once, was thrown out at 1st once, hit a double, walked, hit a single, and scored twice. I did ok as a pitcher until the 9th inning when I walked many batters, almost walked the tying run, and pretty much almost lost the game.

all in all, it was a lot of fun, a close game (10-9, us), and a thriller. thank you christian, dk, my teammates, and RWC.

enough about softball. check out this hotness. i love the way her hair is blowing back as she walks through the streets of new york. and look at that smile. just pure EYE CANDY. :D

"I definitely have a big part concerning all the anger, but I do know that the type of people around me also affects my temperament. For instance, hanging out with my college roomies James, Albert, and Joe (as well as other wonderful college buddies) always puts me in a cheerful, happy, and even graceful (subjective. I FEEL graceful sometimes, ok?) state of being. It did then, and it does now when we get together."

    from a previous post.

i feel the exact same way.
