my lakers

the lakers are killing me. i don't know if i can watch anymore, because my chest gets tight and a rage comes over me. i want to choke someone, or punch a hole in the wall. i'm not a violent man. just stay away from me when there is injustice.

what the heck is going on? i will acknowledge this:
1) lakers are not playing defense very well

2) rock fox is out

3) devean george is out

4) lakers are doubling on duncan (usually with kobe), leaving too many ppl open

5) lakers are having trouble dealing with spurs' guards that drive (parker, ginobili)

but what is THIS all about?
1) the huge free throw disparity in game 1? this was just ridiculous

2) officials allowing bowen to pretty much rape kobe? hey, i think the guy is a good defender, too, but you that doesn't mean you allow bowen to hump kobe all over the floor (sorry for the vulgar language).

3) how come derek fisher doesn't get a SINGLE foul called for him? is it any wonder that the dude doesn't drive? he never gets a SINGLE call. i bet if there were statistics on this sort of thing, it would show that there were a total of 5 fouls called for him, in his entire CAREER.

4) why are they suddenly changing how they ref shaq? yeah, i know, the dude is big, he's physical. he's hard to ref. but you don't ref him a particular way the entire season and then decide to suddenly change it NOW, it the middle of the round two of the playoffs!

5) there were some flagrant fouls called that drove me batty. a flagrant foul is called when you don't make a play for the ball, but just the player. REGARDLESS OF HOW THE FOULED PERSON FALLS. if shaq takes a swipe at the ball, and he bumps a player in the process mildly, making the player go flying cause shaq just has that much more mass, that is NOT A FLAGRANT FOUL. you want to know what a flagrant foul is? when all those spurs guys hammer at his arms, with no intent of hitting the ball at ALL. make no mistake, those fouls have a lot of force behind them that would floor anyone else in the league but shaq.

i've actually been very impressed with shaq's patience. the way he gets hammered, i would really punish some of those guys. and i would punish them HARD.

6) what drove me especially crazy: one official makes a bad call, calling a foul on shaq or kobe. on the VERY NEXT PLAY, a different official calls a foul on a spurs scrub, with what is known as a MAKE-UP CALLl for the previous bad call. except that it doesn't really make up for it, cause you gave too many fouls to our two most important players while making up with calls on unimportant guys like danny ferry.

the lakers ARE playing crappy. but you know what, they were still in game one, but the refs seemed determined to not give them a chance. it freaking KILLS me. i mean, the spurs are playing well enough. you don't need to help them out on every single play. same story in game 2. the lakers were right there in the 2nd quarter until a series of fouls called on shaq and kobe, taking them both out, and allowing the spurs to blow the game open.

can you make it more OBVIOUS?! i know everyone wants to take down the lakers, but this is getting ridiculous when the refs help the players out.

sorry, i can't talk about this... it's making me mad again.
