peds: wk 2 day....
it's funny how kids hate shots. i don't think i was ever such a sissy. i've always watched the needles and iv's go into me with wide open eyes, even when i was little. i wanted to see how it went in, where it was going in, and to see if blood would squirt out. but THESE kids... i wanted to say, "yo! stop being such a sissy!" but i don't think the moms would have been too happy with me. it's also funny how kids stop crying immediately when the doc busts out the script pad. they know that all the torturous stuff is over when it is time for the script pad. they break out in this GREAT BIG SMILE. it's hilarious to see this red-eyed, wet snot dripping face have such a big grin. they practically order you out of the exam room with a "GOOD BYE!!!" and a furious wave. but the all time highlight has to be their waddle/running. kids do this funny walk/run. they pick up their hands to their chest and their butt wiggles as they awkwardly run. i am very tempted to stick out my foot and see them eat it, sometimes. :D i have to supress these thoughts... MR, MD came to speak. the dude was a filmmaker turned pediatrician. says he knows coppola, lucas. i'm not sure i believe him. and was an assistant director of seven samurai. so, why did he make the change? "because, i was making lots of money, i was going to all these parties, meeting people, but at the end of the day, when i lay on my bed, i was asking myself, 'what the h*ll am i doing? what GOOD am i doing?' and decided that i had to make a drastic switch." pretty impressive. takes quite a big pair to leave all that $$ and glamour to go back to school (he was an english major, and had not taken nary a science classes, and then med school, and then residency, to finally take a job as a pediatrician (one of the lowest paying specialties). impressive, or insane. i'm not sure which. ******** you know how sometimes you have to take a leak really really badly? and you can't seem to find a restroom? and you curse yourself for having bought stupid button-fly khakis, instead of zipper fly? and then you have to do a mini-breathing exercise, so that maybe your bladder detrusor muscle will relax, and buy you another 20 seconds before it squeezes again? that happened 3X to me today. at the third time, i leaned against the wall as i let the river flow; i was so tired. tired of trying to hold it in. i don't remember it being so agonizing. anyway. ******** mstar is being quite mean in her comments. but she's hot, so she thinks she can get away with it. :D HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA when i publish my paper on dreams, and it becomes the next big thing since watson and crick's "Molecular structure of Nucleic Acids" (only TWO pages long. and it won them the nobel prize), we'll see who's laughing, mstar. why don't you come to ny so that we can play football, and i can knock you on your butt again? ;) ******** game 2. 9:30 yakob at 8:44 PM |
