recent events, thoughts, and the streak goes on...
30 hr famine our YG participated in this for a 2nd year. they've grown much, my little babushkas(sp?). hardly any complaints about going hungry. perhaps even some deep contemplation going on? yes, i think so! i don't know if they see the changes in themselves, the way the teachers can. i wish i had gone with them to the The Bowery Mission, where the kids served the homeless. it was wonderful to hear them talk about the experience. yesterday, we watched a video prepared by world vision. ai. it is one thing to know that stuff like this is going on, but to see starving kids, to see babies crying without parents, to see people who have known nothing else but a terrible life... it is too sad. as i sat there, watching the video, i realized certain things. over the past year, i'm beginning to see that i was never meant to ride the fast track in the medical world for success, fame, or the respect of the academic world. medicine is a crucial part of who i am, what i am to do in life, but it is only a tool (maybe a minor tool), a piece of armor, a skill that is to be used for a greater purpose. what i do know is that i find more joy in my YG and in dreaming about missions. hopefully it'll be more than just a dream, soon. the streak... (and i'm not talking about the brown stain in your underwear...) (kobe had his 8th straight 40 pt game yesterday. his 12th straight 35+ pt game.) "Everyone had their hands in Kobe's face. My mama had a hand in his face and he still hit it,'' Wells said of Bryant's final shot. "Kobe is playing at an unbelievable level and hitting big shots. I feel like I am an all right defender and Ruben is an all right defender, and he still made us feel like we were no defenders.'' he must have also taken away your education, bonzi. what kind of sentence is that? yakob at 12:58 AM |
