there's a snowstorm outside. makes me real glad that i'm nice and warm indoors.

reminds me of freshman year of college at JHU. i was up pulling an all-nighter for something ridiculous, like making my first web page, or trying out chat rooms in irc (doing innocent things, like picking up chicks in australia...)

i went outside, and was so surprised that i couldn't move, and didn't know what i was seeing.

little white stuff was flying all around.

i had seen snow before, in big bear, but i had never actually seen snow FALLING. and this was some crazy stuff. it wasn't even falling down! the white stuff was swirling in every direction: down, sideways, and even going UP.

the first thought that came into my mind was that this was all ash, and that it was the end of the world. since it was 5:30, there were no people out. just me. standing still, in the snow, thinking that it was the end of the world.

had me all scared and excited. until i put out my hand, saw the stuff melt, and realized that it was snow.

i want to go out and make ice sculptures (t's suggestion). i made a huge one that spanned the front yard last yr.

it was a dragon that went in and out of the ground, finally rising in the middle of the yard, with a beheaded man in front of it. i would like to make a cool scene like that again... must read more calvin and hobbes for inspiration...
