studied for a long stretch at bobst, the undergrad NYU library. was surprised to find a number of my classmates plus a sig # of other medical students (prob from mt sinai).

up to now, i've putting logging in 10-14 hrs/day at my desk, and actually getting about 5-7 hours of real work done.

i think i'm a bit improved now, logging in about 10-14 hrs/day, getting in about 6-8. still not enough, though...my rate of falling behind has decreased, but i am still far behind in my projected schedule.

i guess i'm really going to have to study when i go to chicago, along with edmund and joe. that stinks. i was hoping to relax and enjoy my first trip to chicago...

for dinner: my mom's yuk gae jang, that she made and brought yesterday, when my entire family went out to eat dinner together (first time in a loooooong time). man, i love her yuk gae jang. it's spicy, but not mindless, tasteless spicy like at most korean restaurants. my mom doesn't just put in slivers of meat, she puts in the cuts of meat that she boils for a long time, so that all their flavor is in the soup, and the meat will just fall apart in your mouth. the stew is chock full of so many ingredients; it really puts the sorry excuses for yuk gae jang in k-town to shame. most importantly, it has the all-important go-sa-li, the baby fern, boiled in the spicy stew to falling-apart tenderness that gives yuk gae jang that great, beef-complementary flavor. mmm... i love that spreading warmness you get after good yuk gae jang. not the uncomfortable burning from bad yuk gae jang.
