Got back from house church:
Dave led praise, Jimmy led Bible study on Galatians 5:16-25: Living by the Spirit we had quite a discussion on what this meant, both in the passage, and for us practically, in living our daily lives. (please feel free to add your comments on what YOU think this means.) Tomorrow, will be leaving early morning to Ben Koo's graduation from Biblical Theological Seminary. A little bit on ben, and what he means to me: !) I first met Ben when I was visiting churches my freshman year, at NCFC. He was the bassist, and he had this crazy long hair that went down to the middle of his back, with shaved sides and back. I remember thinking, they let guys like this on the worship team?? (he now sports short hair, a la freddie prinze junior...haha. jk. it's the kind of hair that is short but gelled forward) 2) When Pastor Roger started a church in baltimore, he had a core of ppl to plant the church, and ben was one of them, a regular founding father 3) Ben led worship at GLC for the entire time that I was there. When I showed interest in joining the worship team, he made me a roadie (basically, a scrub to sarry heavy equipment, transport stuff every week, and do sound checks) for a year, to learn about the equipment and worship team dynamics. It was hard work, and a lot to learn, but seriously one of the most rewarding experiences, and one that is still useful for me today (My meager knowledge for general set-up on worship nights for CMDA, and other praise nights, is frequently called upon) 4) I played bass for GLC and and experienced first hand, worship team dynamics, and how one leads a worship team, from ben 5) I was discipled by Ben for 1 year, during which I learn a lot about my relationship with God all in all, this dude has had a big impact on my life. i'm thankful to know someone like him, who has really given their life, 100%, to God. i hope that we can serve again together, in the near future. ok, early sleep fo rme. yakob at 12:53 AM |
