    OB/GYN: wk1,day4

i'm so happy with today. again, they didn't have enough attendings, and didn't even have a lot of pt's scheduled today. so they told all the medical students to go home and read. yay!!

i spent the day cleaning (my room never seems to stay clean. i think i could spend a wk on it, and never finish. i'm still not entirely unpacked from my move, 1 month ago), and studying. i also napped for 3 hrs, and it felt SOOOO good. it was one of those make-up-for-the-wk naps, and it was very refreshing.

    ****
school christian fellowship mtg today. again, i went in without expecting much, and again was blown away by what God had for me. i am truly a very slow learner. how many times does God have to knock on my head for me to realize how precious each bible study and prayer mtg is?

today's study was on Acts 26 (as a fellowship, we are studying Acts. almost finished with this book...). the way apostle Paul is able to testify of Christ and the gospel is really convicting. so bold, so courageous, so fearless. i am gripped by each account of a testimony, but have yet to speak so bodly to non-christians. my way is ever so cautious, feeling my way, trying not to offend.

the difficulty is that the nature of the gospel forces one to take a postition. either you will be convicted of your separation from God and will accept His invitation to you, or the gospel willoffend you. if you do not accept Jesus, how can it not offend you? the gospel says you are a sinner, that you are separated from a holy God, and that only through Jesus Christ will you be saved and rejoined with God.

for those of us that have always relied on ourselves, our hard work, who think we are relatively decent, "good" people, this message is offensive. it devalues the effort we invested in our own lives and morals, it lumps us with the beggars, prostitues, murderers.

...and that is the truth. any honest man will see the truth to this, christian or no.

i need to boldly proclaim this message, though it may offend, though i may be tried, persecuted and judged. how easy it is to speak of love. everyone wants to hear that they are loved. and they are, by the one love that matters, from God. how hard it is to tell others that they are fallen, equal to molesters, abusers, murderers, adulterers.
