    surgery: wk 1, day 2

the stereotypes are true; surgeons are direct, blunt, crass, and don't have the best manners. my type of people. :D

shocking. very un-PC. but i appreciate their humor and congeniality. they are much more HUMAN. faulty humans, yes, but much easier to relate to, at least for me. it is too early to embrace the specialty, but i'm getting good vibes so far. let's see how long i can tolerate some more ridiculous hours (be in by 5:30am - i'm getting REALLY REALLY SICK of waking up so early. i am NOT a morning person).

i can't help but think about college days, when waking up at 11am, noon, or even 1 or 2 pm was the norm. how i long for that freedom...

but i'm starting this with a positive outlook. hopefully, the surgery rotation will nice to me.

there is this one guy, who shall remain unnamed, who has this FIXED frown on his face. as my brothers and i said back in the day, "he looks like he just tasted ddong. except that it is his permanent facial expression. again, one of those guys that tempt me to laugh in their faces without their saying a word.

my R carotid pulse is doing quite a weird dance lately. very irregular beat. actually, i'm comparing it my radial pulse, and they do not correlate. so i guess that it is actually a vascular spasm in my R carotid artery. the magnitude is pretty significant. hm... could it be my terrible diet in the past 4 months? i'll have to think more about this when i have time...

listening to josh gorban: let me fall
he has a good voice, but i don't really like THE WAY he is singing. it is too melodramatic. but the lyrics to this song are cool.
