    a New York moment:

i was walking east on 34th st. to go study at the New York Public Library on 42nd and 5th, enjoying the day, the weather.

there was a guy on my left, going in the same direction as myself, and even walking at the same pace. he was a white guy, dressed smartly in a dark blue pin-striped suit, in his late 20s, short blond gelled hair and all. very, very slick. how i would want to dress and look, i suppose, if i was in the business world.

so, the two of us were walking along, he about 5 steps ahead of me, when a girl walks toward us, with some LONG legs. mr. business guy doesn't miss a step until she is past him, past me, and THEN, he twists his upper torso around and takes a long, long, look at the girl, with this BROAD grin on his face, while still walking. i mean, this guy was ENJOYING the view like i had never seen. it must've took considerable restraint to wait until he was sure she had passed sufficiently to not notice. there he was, grinning like a baboon, until he looked up, and saw me. his face froze like a little kid who had been caught by his parents.

i couldn't help it, and so i smiled, and started laughing. his face crumbled some more, and then he started laughing, too. because he realized that the only reason i would be laughing would be if i had ALSO been aware of the long-legged girl. so there we were, complete strangers, sharing a good laugh as we kept walking along.

but then i noticed that he picked up his pace, and turned at the first corner. hahaha.
