never ask a medical student how his day was. he might just tell you. all i've been doing is complaining. it's disgusting. today, i saw a repair of a gastroschisis (a rare congenital disorder in which the patient is born with a defect in the wall of the abdomen) in the OR. sad to see a baby born with big hole in his stomach, with his intestines hanging out. amazing to see it corrected. my residents are liking me. this makes me happy, but i almost don't care. because these same residents gave me an assignment today and are making me present tomorrow, after a long day today. i want to float away and go into a deep sleep... thank you so much, all you who encourage me. you give me much more credit than i'm due, though. but thanks for lifting my spirits. to sleep. maybe i can wake up early and prepare my presentation. if not, i think i'm willing to make my first conscious big mistake by not preparing this presentation, which requires a lot of reading and research. i'm just too tired. to bed. yakob at 10:44 PM |
