ESPNsoccernet.com World Cup 2002: Match Report: United States 3 - 2 Portugal WOW. i'm totally getting into this soccer thing. didn't see the game, but the news is shocking enough. all this means is that the South Korea/US game is going to be INTENSE.

split loyalties? NO WAY. i'm for COREA all the way baby. else my relatives from COREA will fly over and thrash me. i'm not talking about my cousins, 20, 30 yr olds. i'm talking about my uncles: 35, 40s, 50s. when i went to Korea 5 yrs ago, one almost kicked my butt when i hesitated upon being asked which team i would root for. i mean, this dude was SERIOUSLY gonna smack me. he needs to chill. i wish i could get a COREAN jersey, now. i'll wear it all week!

yesterday, lost the semifinals match in ping pong. yup, that still same tournament. that leaves me with ranked third, out of a field of 30-some ppl. i'm glad i didn't advance, actually, because i've already played the #1 guy, and i admit, he's a LOT better than me. and the finals game is going to be public, open to anyone to watch (you don't think anyone will come? boy, you don't know NYU med students...), and i wouldn't want everyone to see me getting worked. pride, you know?
