it's pouring outside. i love being indoors in an air conditioned room while it's raining like this. rain is very pretty, i think. it gets such a bad rep, and it's a universal symbol of dreariness, of a ruined day, ruined relationships...too bad. it's more a cleansing thing for me. washes all the pollution from the air (of course, this means you should definitely not get caught in the first rain, because it will most likely be acidic...). it's much nicer to appreciate from the inside, though, rather than actually being out there.

rain like this reminds me of senior year, rooming with albert. once, when it rained really, really hard, and there was a thunderstorm/lightning watch, we went out to the hopkins house pool by ourselves. we were having a great time, swimming, while extremely heavy drops of rain fell around us. there was no one there, just us. it was loads of fun. short-lived fun, however, because a lifeguard soon came out and asked, "what the heck are you guys doing? are you crazy? don't you know there's a thunderstorm lightning watch?" boy, was HE a party pooper. we sat out for a while, but when he left, we went back in again. what's a little lightning gonna do, huh? sheesh.

i hope i can finish reviewing microbiology tonight, and maybe start on reviewing gross anatomy. *sigh* this is CRAZY. i don't know if i can reach and maintain a finals type drive and persective for an entire month. ppl around me are hitting 14 hr study sessions every single day. insanity.
