END of Esther Wk To recap: Thursday evening: romantic dinner @ Water's Edge restaurant. we took the ferry across the east river, which deposited us right on the steps to the restaurant. i had: pork chops with veggies chopped into thin lines. i think this is called, "julienne." she had: grilled salmon my evaluation: the food was just ok, but the atmosphere and view of the city skyline at night was very cool. plus the host must've realized that it was a special couple-type dinner, and put us right next to the window for a great view. :) Friday lunch: both of us were starving, so we decided to head towards East buffet in Queens for some face-stuffing. which we proceeded to do. soft-shell crab prepared in that chinese way (garlic, cooked flour... lobster is often prepared the same way in chinese restaurants as well. anyone know what this style is called?), peking duck, grilled meat and veggies, mmmm.... all for $10. it's the best deal of this entire area. i don't know how they are able to afford it. Friday evening: dinner with esk's friends @ tuscan square restaurant. i wasn't that hungry, so i didn't eat that much, but the food was pretty good. standard italian fare. the portions were pretty small, though. boo. afterwards, everyone threw out my suggestion of hanging out at barnes and nobles and instead we chose to follow esther's k-town roots, and went to 3rd floor cafe. Sat evening: remnant STORM senior grad night. WHOO HOO!! boy, did everyone look sharp. we should have more of these more often. alas, ji-eun and sandy are going off to college. *tear* ah, time truly flies. i'll miss both of you very, very much. :( and so, the end of esther wk. see you next yr. yakob at 8:12 PM |
