WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?! you ask? well, that's a baby born with spinda bifida (myelomeningocele), which is what i gave my presentation on. myelomeningocele is the most severe form of spina bifida. there is a split in the outer part of the vertebrae and the spinal cord is damaged. the spinal cord plus meninges protrudes through the crack in vertebrae and may be enclosed in a sack filled with CSF(cerebrospinal fluid. the stuff your brain is floating in). Overlying bones, muscle and skin are also open. the spinal cord itself is not fully formed and the nerves do not develop as they should. some level of paralysis occurs as well as bladder and bowel control problems. check out this pic: ********* while waiting for the train to take me back to the city, i couldn't help but overhear a business dude talking on his cell. it was a very interesting one-sided convo. did you know that muslims don't believe in the concept of interest? weird. this guy sounded like he was making huge international business transactions, all on his cell. what a totally different world... ********* btw, what happened with the war? are we still at war? what's going on in the world? it's hard to keep track of the world when you seem to be living in a different universe. ********* mom and dad are going to utah, yellowstone, then LA. cute. :) ********* chtcselrelifedreams... ceskkpcdygraeunronaxlchg. different, but good. the world is expanding. or maybe i am expanding. the 168 lbs suggest that it may be the latter. yakob at 12:56 AM |
