so, yesterday was halloween, which meant little to me, other than that there was a prolonged ruckus outside Bobst while i was studying yesterday.

after grabbing dinner with dc, considered watching the parade, but the crowd was too thick, and so we settled on watching some street dancers (these guys were the best ones i've seen so far) for a couple of minutes.

while going home, the bus was crazy late, so i got to observe ppl as i was memorizing facts from my little study cards. this must be the only place in the world where you can't tell whether ppl are dressed up for halloween or if that is their normal state. some were obviously dressed for halloween, with their body suits in fur or whatnot. but a good % were ambiguous.

made a mistake yesterday of stopping by strands, now one of my fav places to go. books! books! books! for SO cheap! wow... i was blown away. they even have new books for low prices. the older books, you get at least half off the price on it's cover. so, if it's an old edition that went for $2.50, you can get it for... $1.50!!! yes, that's right, folks!!

so i bought 4 books, all ones i read before, but i wanted to re-read them, or have them available so i can loan em out to ppl.

    The Gift of Asher Lev
    The Chosen
    Crime and Punishment
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

there are many more of my fav books that i need to get... means more visits :) to different strands, perhaps?

i couldn't help myself, so i reread the gift of asher lev. i don't know how to describe it, but this man, chaim potok, he knows how to stroke my heartstrings. i'm hope i wasn't too conspicuous, sniffling and tearing in the library.
