dream
setting: our house in Temple City, CA, before we moved to Arcadia. my grandmother is angry about something. she is large, energetic and vivacious, the way she was when i was younger, not the crumbled, small skeleton i stayed with after high school. though she is angry, i am just happy to see her alive and kicking. i go to the kitchen to get something to drink for her. in the fridge, there are tall plastic bottles of juice that contain chunks of fruit in them. i grab a honey dew melon flavored one for my grandmother. mom comes into the kitchen and points at a bottle that was on the counter. "who did this? who left this one outside, to rot?" "it wasn't me, mom. i just got here, to get one for grandmother." "who would do something like this?" we both realized, at the same time, that it had to be dad. mom sighed, frustrated. (my dad does NOT do things like this in real life. he is very responsible... weird) from the living room, we hear sounds of a ping-pong ball. twak, twak, twak, twak... jimmy and david are playing. the table is in the middle of our living room. "what are you doing? it's 2am!" "aw, just playing a game..." twak, twak...twak, twak. /dream yakob at 2:30 PM |
