    Blue 9 Burger
    12th st & 3rd ave.

had dinner with pat and bryan. it wasn't exactly like the double-double of In-N-Out, but it was doing a darn good imitation. the meat patties were slightly thicker, and the sauce wasn't the same.

BUT: they did get the fresh meat (never frozen), nice toasted buns, and melted cheese idea down. well done!!

i was too busy snarfing down the blue 9 (aka the double double), another cheeseburger, two orders of fries (also freshly made there, like in-n-out), and about 4 cups of soda (free refill, following CA spirit, as opposed to stingy east coast fast food joints and restaurants!!!), to be bothered with smaller details.

this place isn't perfect. it is NOT exactly in-n-out. but it by far the best burger i've had in NY so far. no comparison. it lessens the hurt in my wallet from a fast food burger:
$7.50 for blue 9, fries and drink
plus another $5 for cheeseburger plus another order of fries (i was hungry, ok?!)

so, kinda pricey, esp thinking of my $2.50 double doubles, but heck, i was almost brought to tears with the taste, the memories... priceless...

pat and i hung out afterwards at my place. it was nice to chill and yak. we haven't done that since... actually, i don't think we've ever hung out by ourselves, so that was pretty cool. we talked a lot about music, songs, church, etc. conversation with pat is always interesting, refreshing, and honest. i like that.
